Microsoft Korea is hosting an online job fair with 30 of its partner companies later this month. The tech giant's local subsidiary said it will hold the event on Nov. 26 via Teams, to share information about job openings as well as the information technology (IT) industry trends and interview tips with young job seekers.
Microsoft Korea Senior Cloud Advocate Justin Yoo will share the latest trends in the IT industry and LinkedIn Manager Kim Yoo-kyung plans to show how to utilize the company's platform to set up business networks and secure jobs.
Over 30 of Microsoft Korea's client and partner companies, including Loreal Korea, Megazone Cloud, LG CNS and Hyundai Autoever, will introduce positions that are open within their firms.
HR officials of local online flea market operator Danggeun Market, Hyundai Motor Group's IT service affiliate Hyundai Autoever and Microsoft Korea will introduce the qualities local and global companies are seeking applicants.
Son Ha-bin, who heads Meet Me, a local platform to help individuals explore their inner selves, will deliver a message on personal growth.
Microsoft said it will offer free online courses for participants who complete the company's "cloud skill challenge" by Nov. 25, a day before the event.
"The shortage of young people with skills in IT is growing here, amid the acceleration of the transition to the digital sphere," Microsoft Korea CEO Lee Ji-eun said. "Microsoft Korea will not only assist the digital transformation of local companies, but also foster individuals with advanced skills and make efforts to set up a sustainable business ecosystem."

Microsoft unveiled its Cloud & Artificial Intelligence Country Plan for Korea in 2019, which outlines the company's efforts to facilitate digital transformation here, and its social responsibilities to narrow the tech gap and create jobs.
