LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo emphasized the importance of securing skilled workers in the research and development sector to remain innovative in technology, during the LG Tech Conference held at LG Science Park in southwestern Seoul's Magok-dong, Thursday.
The event, which started in 2012 as part of the company's efforts to attract competent personnel, invited some 400 participants majoring in science and engineering to share LG's vision and the current status of its technological innovation.
The chairman opened his speech by introducing LG AI Research Institute's artificial intelligence (AI) human, "Tilda."
"LG's dream is to give people a happy experience in their lives and make a better future and a world where they live smiling," Koo said during the "LG Tech Conference" held at LG Science Park in southern Seoul's Magok-dong, Thursday. "To make this dream come true, technology, innovation and the skilled workers who can achieve these are important. This is the principle that LG has been holding for over 75 years of the company's history."
He added, "The size of your dream determines the future. I support your concerns over your dream and growth to bear bigger fruits and I wish LG can join that journey."
The chairman has been reiterating the importance of securing skilled workers.
Last June, Koo visited LG Chem's R&D center and asked to find ways to secure experts by deviating from existing practices and increasing competitiveness in recruitment.
LG has prepared a total of 26 tech sessions in the fields of AI, big data, metaverse, blockchain and smart factory technology for its tech conference. The company introduced and explained several of its best technologies to participants.
