POSCO International held an export consultation conference for small and medium-sized (SME) venture companies at the POSCO Changeup Ground event in Seoul, Friday.
According to the company, the export conference, which is now in its third year, was organized for such companies in Korea that are having difficulties in expanding to overseas markets despite their advanced technologies.
POSCO International provided practical solutions based on its accumulated global business experience and accumulated skills. In addition, POSTECH Holdings, the technology holding company of Pohang University of Science and Technology, co-hosted the conference last year and joined forces to attract more promising startups.
Eighteen outstanding SMEs and venture companies with superb technologies in fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), IT security, eco-friendly materials and platform services took part in the event.
The conference was divided into two parts: competency training and customized one-on-one consultations. In the competency training part, employees in charge of POSCO International in each field, such as trade finance and overseas marketing, served as instructors and delivered knowledge that might be of practical assistance.
"This conference focused on providing practical business solutions to small and medium-sized venture companies that are preparing for overseas expansion thanks to their recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic," a POSCO International official said.
Meanwhile, POSCO International has been helping SMEs with overseas marketing through its cooperation fund and is actively practicing ESG management, such as making efforts to establish a virtuous cycle with SMEs through various support programs, according to the company.
