Synology, a leading network attached storage maker, unveiled new products on Thursday that help companies manage their data flexibly and safely.
The Taiwan-based company said data management and protection are becoming more important for companies in the digital transformation era. Small and medium-sized organizations are particularly experiencing difficulties in data management due to cost and technological reasons. Synology said it can help them with its high-quality and cost-effectiveness products.
"COVID-19 has been impacting our life for almost three years now. That makes us rely 100 percent on digital technology for day to day work. Research actually shows that 60 percent of organizations sped up their investments during the period. We also know there's an ever wider acceptance of public cloud applications," Joanne Weng, Asia Pacific sales director at Synology, said during a press conference in Seoul.
The sales director added that the company launched cloud hosted data protection, cross site file sharing video service and more solutions to work with its on-premise system to provide a complete data management solution.
On-premise is run within a company's internal servers and computers. As the system resides within the organization's physical offices, it is considered more reliable and flexible, allowing companies to operate a higher level of control compared to public cloud computing systems.
Synology said the products it released this time include data management, data protection and IT infrastructure security, further raising the standard for scalability, flexibility and security.
"Synology recognized quite early that digital transformation will require a hybrid cloud from private and public cloud infrastructure. For years now, we have been working on integrating all on-premise systems that ever worked with public cloud. In 2017, we took a step further by building our own public cloud system C2. It allows us to provide a seamless customer hyper cloud experience for our customers," she said.
