And the young mother was concerned if grandma, in partnership with grandpa, would spoil her babies.
Why would your parents decide to take that 13-hour-long flight to the other side of the globe if they had no intention of pouring their eternal love onto their grandchildren and spoiling them as much as possible? When they entered into your house and saw your babies, discipline flew out the window.
I know well as I've been doing the same thing Jane's parents are doing, establishing a bridge of love with their grand-babies. It's my 25th year. And I should confess that I, in conspiracy with the grandfather, still maintain a simple connection with our now two grown-up grandsons; short on criticism and long on love. It was my second chance to be a mother and now secretly I'm hoping to experience it a third time. It's the most satisfying and beautiful experience in life ― being a grandmother, and probably being a grandchild. The grand here is a great word either way.
Grandmother never watches TV when she is with her grandchild because the child's every movement and expression is far more lovely and beautiful than fiction. It's real and baby's smile melts granny's heart down.
