The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is set to celebrate its 93rd National Day, Saturday, to commemorate the historic proclamation made by King Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud in 1932, when he named the country the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This momentous event followed a unification process that spanned 32 years, leading to the formation of a state dedicated to spreading peace, goodness, knowledge and development, all while steadfastly advancing toward a brighter future for its people and the global community.

Al-Masmak Palace in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia / Courtesy of Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Seoul

Saudis will reflect on this significant day that instilled pride in their religion and patriotism, fostered by a government committed to their development. This commitment has propelled Saudi Arabia to stand proudly among nations, marked by substantial progress and modernization comparable to developed countries.

This year, the citizens of Saudi Arabia revisit this memory under the banner of "We Dream and Achieve." This slogan signifies the realization of dreams in various aspects of Saudi life, evident in the ambitious projects launched as part of Saudi Vision 2030. This vision has fortified the kingdom's position and capabilities to continue its influential role on the global stage.

Today, Saudi Arabians live in an exceptional present and look forward to an even more extraordinary future. The Saudis place their trust in King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, who has been at the helm since 2015, diligently guiding the nation forward. His efforts have spanned a multitude of fields, both domestically and internationally, and have been marked by accomplishments across various stages of his leadership.

Al-Masmak Palace in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia / Courtesy of Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Seoul
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has been unwavering in his commitment to uphold the kingdom's regional and international significance, prioritize citizen well-being, and drive Saudi Arabia towards advanced global standing.

In 2016, he introduced "Kingdom's Vision 2030," a comprehensive plan built on a strong foundation, characterized by a resolute intent to undertake extensive projects and investments across all sectors, leveraging the kingdom's strategic position and pioneering capabilities. Seven years since its launch, this vision has yielded numerous achievements, enhancing government operations, stimulating economic growth, and fostering societal advancements, setting the groundwork for future success.

Saudi Arabia plays a pivotal role in upholding regional security and stability, enjoying a prominent status in the regional, Arab, Islamic and international arenas. The kingdom actively influences international decision-making and remains dedicated to fostering global peace and security.

Al-Masmak Palace in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia / Courtesy of Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Seoul

As one of the world's leading oil producers, Saudi Arabia acknowledges its responsibility in combating climate change. The kingdom is actively pursuing innovative solutions to address the climate crisis, embracing the era of renewable energy sources. The Saudi Green Initiatives are poised to position the kingdom as a global leader in sustainability.

Al-Masmak Palace in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia / Courtesy of Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Seoul

It is worth noting that the relationship between Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Korea represents a genuine partnership. The leaders of both countries prioritize strengthening this relationship and expanding its horizons, enhancing economic ties, boosting trade, and fostering joint investments.

Additionally, Saudi Arabia anticipate the outcomes of the historic visit by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Prime Minister to the Republic of Korea in November last year. This visit reinforced the longstanding ties between the two nations, resulting in the signing of over 26 agreements worth $30 billion across economic, developmental, cultural and investment sectors.

Al-Masmak Palace in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia / Courtesy of Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Seoul

The Republic of Korea is a strategic partner of Saudi Arabia in realizing Vision 2030, as demonstrated by the "Saudi-Korean Vision 2030" Memorandum of Cooperation signed in October 2017. This underscores the Kingdom's recognition of Korea's significance as an economic partner in achieving its Vision 2030 goals and actively participating in projects such as Neom City, The Line, Oxagon and others.
