SM TOWN LIVE 2023, a concert featuring artists under K-pop powerhouse SM Entertainment, will be held at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia, Sept. 23.
A slew of SM artists including TVXQ, Super Junior, Red Velvet, NCT 127, NCT DREAM, WayV and aespa are set to take the stage. A new boy band, which will debut in September, also plans to perform in the Southeast Asian country. It will consist of Sungchan and Shotaro, former NCT members; Eunseok and Seunghan, idol trainees at SM and Lee Chan-young, the son of singer-songwriter Yoon Sang, among others.
It has taken nearly 11 years for SM to stage an in-person concert in Jakarta.
"This year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Indonesia," the company said in a statement, Wednesday. "With our upcoming show, we will reflect on the meaning of harmony while promoting more active cultural exchange between the two countries."
Korea's KB Kookmin Bank and its local subsidiary PT Bank KB Bukopin Tbk will sponsor the event. Those who use the credit cards issued by the latter will have the priority to book the tickets in advance on Aug. 9.
Launched in 2008, "SM TOWN LIVE" attracted 150,000 fans in Tokyo, Japan, last August.
