Actor Song Joong-ki is in a relationship with a British woman, his agency confirmed, Monday.
HighZium studio said the 37-year-old has been in a relationship for about a year after a friend introduced them to each other.
"Song is having a good relationship with the woman," the agency said. "We have nothing more to say about them."
Earlier in the day, a local newspaper reported about their relationship, saying the woman is of British nationality and is not in the entertainment industry.
It is said that she accompanied Song to a press conference related to the fantasy drama series "Reborn Rich" in Singapore on Dec. 7 where he introduced her to the staff.
In 2017 Song married star actress Song Hye-kyo after they co-starred in the 2016 series "Descendants of the Sun," but they divorced about 20 months later.
Debuting in the 2008 film "A Frozen Flower," Song has starred in films including "A Werewolf Boy" (2012), "The Battleship Island" (2017) and "Space Sweepers" (2021), as well as a dozen of series such as "Sungkyunkwan Scandal" (2010), "The Innocent Man" (2012), "Descendants of the Sun" (2016), "Arthdal Chronicles" (2019) and "Vincenzo" (2021). He recently finished shooting the film "Hwaran" (working title) and will start filming the movie "Roh Ki-wan" (working title) in which he will play the role of a North Korean defector.
His latest series, JTBC's "Reborn Rich," which had its finale on Sunday, has gained rave reviews with the viewership rating for the final episode reaching 26.9 percent. He played Yoon Hyun-woo, who is killed by the nation's top conglomerate, Soonyang Group, despite his loyalty to the group and its owner family. However, he then wakes up in the body of the owner family's youngest member, Jin Do-joon, in the past.
