For actress Han So-hee, her role in the upcoming Disney+ original series, "Soundtrack #1," has brought back memories of her own experiences of love.

"This work has made me look back on the times I fell into unrequited love when I was young and brought back the memories and feelings that I had at the time," the actress said in a written interview released by Disney+, Wednesday.

The romance music series, slated to hit the streaming platform on March 23, follows two childhood friends of 20 years, aspiring photographer Han Sun-woo (Park Hyung-sik) and song lyricist Lee Eun-soo (Han) who happen to live together for two weeks.

Living under the same roof, the relationship between the two takes a turn, as they develop feelings for each other, blurring the lines between friendship and romance.

It is led by director Kim Hee-won, who oversaw the hit series, "Vincenzo," and is written by scriptwriter Ahn Sae-bom.

Actress Han So-hee plays the role of a song lyricist in Disney+'s new original series, 'Soundtrack #1.' Courtesy of Disney+

The actress revealed that the biggest reason she joined this project was to work with director Kim.

"Although there are many reasons, I think the biggest one was director Kim. Before we began production, we had a lot of discussions and I felt a sense of assurance that it will be an interesting and fun project," she said. "And she has such a cool personality and a good sense of humor, so I knew that I would have a good time and memories (with the series)."

Han's character has a straightforward and high-spirited personality. The actress expressed that she shares many similarities with her character.

"The character might seem simple-minded but she is honest to her feelings and is straightforward. Those personality traits drew me to the character," she said. "Eun-soo and I are alike in many ways. So I tried to balance out her direct, spirited personality so it wouldn't stand out too much compared to Sun-woo's."

Han added that the characters from this series will be very different from her previous roles, such as her portrayal of a vengeful woman in Netflix's "My Name" or the antagonistic mistress in JTBC's "The World of the Married."

"I'm nervous and excited to show a different type of character from my previous works. For those fans who know the real me, I'm curious to see how they will react to seeing me play a character that is similar to me," she said.

Han debuted in 2017 with a supporting role in the fantasy romance series, "Reunited Worlds." She was shot to stardom after starring in "The World of the Married" in 2020.

She is also set to lead the period romance series, "Gyeongseong Creature," with actor Park Seo-joon.

"Soundtrack #1" is a four-part series that will release an episode every Wednesday from March 23 on Disney+.
