Singer-actress Bae Suzy is in talks to star in Netflix's upcoming series "The Girl Downstairs" (working title).

Responding to local reports, Bae's agency Management Soop confirmed she "is currently reviewing the offer to star in the Netflix series, 'The Girl Downstairs.'"

Based on the webtoon of the same title, the romantic comedy follows the story of ex-celebrity Duna who comes to live in shared house with a college freshman named Joon. It will be directed by Lee Jung-hyo of "Romance Is a Bonus Book" (2019) and "Crash Landing on You" (2019-2020).

Bae is also set to play a lead role in local streaming platform Coupang Play's new original series "Anna," which will be unveiled in the first half of this year. In February, she released a new digital single "Satellite" after a four-year musical hiatus.

Bae debuted as a member of four-pieced K-pop girl group Miss A with the song "Bad Girl Good Girl" in 2010. The group instantly rose to stardom as JYP Entertainment's first girl group since Wonder Girls and has released a string of hits, including "Breathe" (2010), "Touch" (2012), and "Hush" (2013).

She made her way into acting in 2011 after landing a lead role in the KBS' hit teen series "Dream High." Since then, she has been building a solid acting career, starring in various TV series and films like the 2016 melodrama series "Uncontrollably Fond" and the 2019 action thriller "Ashfall."
